Everything you need to design signs, pair screens, and run your displays.

Overview

FluxCMS is digital signage for any TV. You design a sign in your browser — like building a slide — then assign it to a screen. A small FluxCMS Player app runs on an Android TV or Fire TV stick and shows whatever you assign. Change a price or swap a promo in the dashboard and every screen updates within seconds. No USB sticks, no trips to the store.

There are two halves:

• The dashboard (this website) — where you design content and manage screens.
• The Player — a free app on your TV that displays the content you assign.

Quick start

1. Create an account at flux-cms.com and confirm your email. Your organization and a 30-day trial are set up automatically.
2. Design a sign. Go to Signs → New sign, pick a template or a blank canvas, and lay out your content.
3. Install the Player on a TV or streaming stick (see The Player app). It shows a 6-character pairing code.
4. Pair the screen. In Displays → Add display, enter that code. The screen is now linked to your organization.
5. Publish. Assign your sign (or a playlist or schedule) to the screen. It appears instantly and updates live whenever you make a change.

Key concepts

Dashboard tour

The top navigation moves between the main areas:

Your name in the top-right opens a menu with Usage & plan, Account, Branding, Support, and — if you belong to more than one — a way to switch organizations.

Displays

Each paired screen shows whether it's online, what content it's currently displaying, and when it last checked in. Select a screen to assign a sign, playlist, or schedule, or to send a remote command — identify (flash a label on the TV), reload, clear cache, or reboot. Use Select to act on several screens at once.

Signs

Your design library. New sign opens a template picker — start from Blank or from a ready-made layout (menu board, promo, welcome screen, and more). Each card lets you edit, duplicate, rename, or delete a sign.

Playlists

A playlist rotates through several signs. Add signs in the order you want, set how long each one shows, and assign the playlist to a screen. The screen loops the playlist; edit any sign and the change flows through automatically. See Playlists above.

Media

Upload images and videos once and reuse them across signs. Organize them into folders. Uploads count toward your plan's storage; images are optimized automatically. You can also add a video by URL.

Schedules

Schedules show different content at different times — a breakfast menu until 11, then lunch, then dinner, automatically, in each screen's own time zone. Build slots with a start time and the sign or playlist to show; the Player evaluates them against its own clock, so it keeps working even if the network drops.

Analytics

Proof-of-play records what content was shown on which screen and when — useful for verifying that a promotion actually ran. Higher plans retain more history.

The canvas editor

The editor is where you build a sign. It has four parts:

• Toolbar (top) — add elements, and the Play, Preview, Export, and Import actions, plus undo/redo.
• Canvas (center) — a TV-shaped stage at your screen's resolution, with rulers along the edges and a live zoom badge. Drag to move, use the corner handles to resize, and the round handle above the selection to rotate.
• Layers (left) — every element stacked in draw order; rename, hide, lock, and reorder.
• Properties (right) — all the settings for the selected element: position, size, rotation, opacity, alignment, flip, layer order, and type-specific options.

Changes save automatically. Anything you place is shown exactly as it will appear on the TV — the editor and the Player use the same renderer.

Tables & menus

There are two kinds of table, for two different jobs:

• ▦ Table — a static grid you fill in by hand. Add rows and columns, style a header row, set borders, striping, padding, and text styles. Double-click any cell on the canvas to type in it; click away to save. Best for a fixed price list, hours, or comparison.
• 📋 Menu — a data-bound table. Point it at a published Google Sheet, a CSV URL, or a JSON endpoint, choose which columns to show, and it renders one row per record — refreshing on its own. Change the spreadsheet and every screen updates. Best for a menu board driven from a sheet or your POS.

Zones

A zone is a rectangular region that plays its own sign — or rotates through several — independently of the rest of the canvas. Combine zones for a multi-region layout: a header, a main area, a sidebar, and a ticker, each on its own rotation.

Moving & arranging

• Move — drag an element. Pink guide lines appear as edges and centers align with other elements and the canvas; hold Alt to place freely without snapping.
• Resize — drag a corner or edge handle. Hold Shift to keep the aspect ratio.
• Rotate — drag the round handle above the selection; hold Shift to snap to 15°.
• Align & flip — the properties panel aligns an element to the canvas edges/center and flips it horizontally or vertically.
• Layer order — bring elements forward or back from the panel or the Layers list.
• Nudge — arrow keys move by 1px, Shift+arrows by 10px.

Inline editing

Double-click a text element to edit it right on the canvas, and double-click a table cell to type into it. Typing replaces the cell's contents; press Esc or click elsewhere to finish. (While you're editing, Backspace, arrows, and copy/paste act on the text, not the element.)

The Player app

FluxCMS Player is free on Google Play for Android TV and Fire TV. Scan the code, or search “FluxCMS Player” on your TV's app store.

Install it on any Android TV, Google TV, or Fire TV device (a cheap streaming stick works fine). It starts automatically when the device powers on, runs full-screen, and keeps showing the last content even if the network briefly drops. An internet connection and a FluxCMS account are required to display content.

Pairing a screen

1. Open the Player on your TV. It shows a 6-character code.
2. In the dashboard, go to Displays → Add display and enter the code, then name the screen (e.g. “Lobby TV”).
3. Assign content — pick a sign, playlist, or schedule. It appears within seconds.

Groups & bulk actions

On the Displays page, use Select to choose several screens, then assign content to all of them at once or save the selection as a named group (e.g. “West Coast Stores”). Reusing a group is faster than clicking screens one by one.

Emergency alerts

The 🚨 Emergency button pushes a full-screen message to every screen in the organization at once — “Store closing early today,” a safety notice, and so on. It overrides whatever is playing until you clear it.

Team & roles

Invite teammates from Team. If they already have a FluxCMS account they're added immediately; otherwise they get an email invitation to sign up. Each member has a role:

Your plan includes a set number of team members; a pending invitation doesn't use a seat until it's accepted.

Branding

From the account menu → Branding, set your own name, logo, and accent color. It appears on your dashboard and on your screens' idle/pairing view. (On the Free plan, screens show a small “Powered by FluxCMS” badge; paid plans remove it.)

Plans & billing

Each organization has its own subscription. Manage it under Usage & plan: you'll see live meters for screens, team members, storage, and monthly bandwidth against your plan's limits, and you can upgrade, downgrade, or open the billing portal.

• Free — 1 screen, 5 GB, the full design studio, with a “Powered by FluxCMS” badge.
• Starter / Pro / Business — more screens, storage, team members, and features (data-driven menus, remote management, priority support). Every paid plan starts with a 30-day free trial.
• Enterprise — custom limits, SSO, and SLAs. Contact sales.
• Extra screens can be added to any paid plan for a small monthly fee each.

Payments are processed by Stripe; FluxCMS never sees your full card details. Cancel any time from the billing portal — you keep access until the end of the period. Your first organization is free; a second or later organization needs its own paid plan before it can be used.
